My music journey started in a small town outside of Knoxville, Tennessee called Harriman. I participated in middle school and high school band as a percussionist, and very quickly fell in love with the art form. During my time in high school, our percussion section took home trophies from marching band competitions as well as local chamber music competitions. It was during this time I passionately studied the marching arts aspect of our field, and was able to attend Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, Tennessee on scholarship. Cookeville very quickly became a home for me, where I worked with many knowledgeable professors and studied alongside colleagues that I respected and valued for their friendship and mentorship. It was here that I developed a new passion in percussion, that being the marimba. My undergraduate experience gave me access to numerous professional resources, one being performance opportunities. During my time at TTU, I performed with the:-Tennessee Tech Percussion Ensemble-Tennessee Tech Steel Band-Tennessee Tech Symphony Band-Bryan Symphony Orchestra I also had the pleasure of performing alongside many guests artists, such as Michael Burritt, The Big Trouble, She-E Wu, The Kraken Quartet, Casey Cangelosi, and Mark Ford. Other notable performances during this time:-Percussion Ensemble Showcase Concert at the 2019 Tennessee Music Education Association Conference-Drumline Performance in the 2020 National Collegiate Cheer and Dance Competition: Orlando, Florida.-Three Solo Recitals-Thirteen feature performances on colleague's recitals-Performance in the 2022 Collegiate Percussion Ensemble Competition at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention -4th place in the Solo Keyboard Competition at the 2023 PAS Tennessee Day of Percussion-1st place in the Solo Snare Drum Competition at the 2023 PAS Tennessee Day of Percussion
